Master Diver Qualifications

The Diving Supervisor shall be included in preparing the operational plans. The Diving Supervisor shall consider contingencies, determine equipment requirements, recommend diving assignments, and establish back-up requirements for the operation. The Diving Supervisor shall be familiar with all divers on the team and shall evaluate the qualifications and physical fitness of the divers selected for each particular job. Figures 6 to 9 present simulation results for the four different test cases, using the RBFN assisted DE. For all test cases safety distance dsafe was set equal to 12.5 of the length of each side of the rectangular terrain. The distance a combat diver can swim beneath the surface varies greatly. Many factors will affect this distance, such as air supply, currents, and personal fitness. Generally, submerged swimming distances should be kept to a maximum of 1500 m. 7. Air Consumption. Air consumption rate is a critical factor when planning insertion and extraction phases of a tactical combat diving operation. Many factors affect consumption rate, some are environmental, such as depth and water temperature, and some are physiological, such as individual fitness level. The estimated duration based on different consumption rates is shown in Table 3-1. Consumption rate also varies with the diver therefore this table is a guide only. The average consumption rate when swimming hard, for example in moderate current and towing equipment, is three cubic feet per minute (3 cfm).

C2 Classification and Design of Welded Connections

Class B defines an intermediate set of mechanical and examination requirements representing a slightly lower level of quality, but still resulting in a weld of predictable strength. Class B welds are intended for less critical applications where reduced ductility and increased porosity can be tolerated. In 1984, my world of underwater photography came to an unexpected and abrupt end when I began to suffer massive headaches after even a minimal swimming experience. If I couldn't swim, it was clear that diving was out of the question. For the next seventeen years I tried to figure out what was wrong I visited neurologists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, massage therapists you name it, I tried it, but to no avail. I had CAT scans and MRI's. Still nothing. So I eliminated water from my workout horizon, using its remembered rhythm only as a way to relax myself to sleep. The distance will determine the appropriate technique, diving ensemble, dress, breathing apparatus, and other equipment. Swimming distances depend on the physical fitness and endurance of the individual diver. There are also navigational difficulties with long-range swimming insertions. There is a limit, both in physical endurance and doctrine, since combat divers are not trained or equipped for long-range missions. The general planning figure, depending on the current, load and weather is 1500 metres this distance should be considered the maximum one-way distance for swimming insertion. Whenever feasible, boats, motorized or manpowered, should be used to reduce swimming distances. However, the use of vehicles, boats, aircraft, or other propulsion vehicles cannot compromise mission security.

The water is generally clear and the use of strobes, in my case Ikelite DS 125s, at half or quarter power is all I need to bring out color in most cases. The topside scenery and sandy beaches are also great for half-half work, again getting the 10mm a good workout. Select a high incoming tide and overhead sun for the best half-half results and work your subject close. Topside scenery in the Rock Islands is also great for above water work. Bring a polarizer for that.

Diver Tender

Diving medical personnel evaluate the fitness of divers before operations begin and are prepared to handle any emergencies which might arise. They also observe Medical personnel assigned to a diving unit shall evaluate the day-to-day condition of each diver and the Diving Supervisor shall verify the fitness of each diver immediately before a dive.
